TOM Naylor was named in the second half XI in last night’s pre-season friendly against Leek Town, in which the Brewers won 2-0.
Burton took the lead in the first half through Marcus Harness and the lead was doubled in the second half through Tom Flanagan.
Naylor said: “I feel alright to be fair, I thought we played well with the ball in the first half at times.
“We were a bit rusty but Marcus’s goal was a good one.
“After that goal we dominated the game, they had a few chances so fair play to them but we were too strong for them.
“It’s the first game since Doncaster so everyone is a bit rusty from then. We’ve had a good hard week in training so it’s just nice to get back on the pitch and kick a football.”
Naylor was partnered alongside academy graduate and first-year pro Charlie Gatter, who put in a solid performance.
“He’s a good player, he does a lot of talking and he is still learning the game. He’s got a bright future if he keeps on doing well,” said Naylor.
