BURTON Albion’s Sports Scientist Jack Sharkey has joined Queen’s Park Rangers.
Jack will link up with former-Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Loftus Road along with David Oldfield and Gavin Ward, who were part of Hasselbaink’s back-room staff at the Pirelli.
Sharkey joined the Brewers at the start of the 2012/13 season as part of Gary Rowett’s back-room staff and was the first sports scientist at the club.
He said: “I’ve had a brilliant four years at the club and I’ve had the pleasure of working with three fantastic managers.
“It’s been great to be part of back-to-back promotions and it’s certainly been an amazing experience.
“The Chairman has been very supportive since the day I came into the club which has been vital to my progression so I’d like to thank him.
“It’s time for a new challenge at Queens Park Rangers and it will be good to link up with Jimmy (Floyd Hasselbaink) again.”
Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson said: “It’s obviously disappointing to lose Jack’s services.
“He’s always been a true professional and has done a great job at Burton Albion Football Club, but we fully understand his reasons for leaving the club and it’s a great opportunity for him.”
