PREPARATION work has started today on a new artificial pitch at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium.

The £1m facility will be for community use and will benefit a wide range of clubs and organisations.

The project secured nearly £850,000 of funding from The Premier League and the FA Facilities Fund.

Burton Albion Community Trust has since been working with local partners to bridge the funding gap and has secured donations from Trent and Dove, The Consolidated Charity of Burton and the East Staffordshire Local Neighbourhood Development Fund as well a number of local businesses.

The facility will not only enable BACT to greatly expand its own programme but also see many other sports organisations in the town have access to a new purpose-built site.

Any businesses interested in supporting the project can go to Just Giving by clicking here to donate.

There is also an opportunity for a main Facility Partner - if anyone is interested in this option please contact
