ALBION LEGENDS SIGN UP FOR CHARITY TOURNAMENT

8 March 2016

FIVE-a-side footballers will be able to take on a team of Burton Albion legends in a charity tournament at St George’s Park.

Long-serving ex-Brewer Aaron Webster has pulled together a team of Albion favourites from his playing days including former captain Darren Stride to play in the event.

The team of Albion legends will compete in the #footballtoamsterdam five-a-side competition on Tuesday, March 29, at St George’s Park.

And clubs, businesses, organisations and groups of friends are invited to enter a team and help raise cash for Prostate Cancer UK,

The Albion legends team will feature:

Aaron Webster
Darren Stride
Ryan Austin
John McGrath
Coin Hoyle
Mark Blount
Alan Davies
David Holmes

Aaron said: “I’m really looking forward to taking part in the tournament and I am delighted that so many Burton Albion legends from two different title winning squads are able to turn out and support a great cause.”

The charity five-a-side tournament will be hosted at the home of football by a team of volunteers and will raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and the Burton Albion Community Trust #footballtoamsterdam bike ride in June.

Teams are allowed a maximum squad size of 10 and will play in groups before the winners go onto the knockout stage of the tournament.

The entry fee is £150. To enter a team email john.widdowson@burtonalbionfc.co.uk or call 01283 565938.
