ANDY GARNER ANTICIPATING A DIFFICULT GAME AGAINST CREWE

4 March 2016

A WIN on Tuesday night against Sheffield United was just what the Brewers needed after a loss against Southend then a goalless draw against Walsall in the league.

The next challenge on the way to promotion is Crewe Alexandra as the Brewers travel to Gresty Road on Saturday to take on the struggling League One team who sit 23rd.

First team coach Andy Garner is anticipating a difficult game against the Railway Men as they scrap for League One survival.

“They need wins so will be devastated with that (the late equaliser for Southend) I would imagine,” said Andy Garner.

He added: “It’s getting to the stage now that it’s wins now for Crewe if they want to stay up so it will be a difficult game.

“Now, at this time of the season, every game is difficult. It will be no different at Crewe on Saturday.”

Garner also stated his side must be ‘spot on’ again if they are to get anything from the game.

“We have to be spot on.

“We saw at Rochdale that if you aren't right you lose games. They will be fighting for their lives.

“It’s hard for them, the pressure is on them and we have to take advantage of that.

“Like at Sheffield United you could sense the nervousness.

“We have to be right mentally on Saturday.”

The first team coach has a game plan which he will take to Gresty Road on Saturday.

“If Crewe want to win the game they will have to come at us and that leaves gaps and then it’s up to break, play counter attacking football and that might suit us.”
