ENGLAND U17s TO PLAY AT THE PIRELLI THIS MONTH

22 March 2016

ENGLAND Under-17s will have home advantage for the UEFA Elite Qualifying Round in Burton, Chesterfield and Leek as they target a spot at this summer’s Euro Finals.

Steve Cooper’s squad will take on Ukraine, Turkey and Finland knowing that finishing top of their four-team group will see them progress to the Finals in Azerbaijan in May.

And a second-place finish could also be good enough depending on how the other qualifying groups progress next month.

Tickets for all three home games are now on sale and first up for England is Turkey at Chesterfield’s Proact Stadium at 7pm on Thursday 24 March.

They then take on Finland at Leek Town’s Harrison Park two days later at 3pm on Saturday 26 March.

And the final match day of the group pits the Young Lions against Ukraine at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium at 7pm on Tuesday 29 March.

England’s U17s Head Coach, Steve Cooper, said: "The recent Algarve tournament gave the players the chance to play against some top opposition and we're really looking forward to what will be another three important games for us.

“To host the Elite round on home turf is always exciting and to get round the country and give young England fans the opportunity to see some of our players on home soil is really important. This year it falls during the Easter holidays, and hopefully the local fans can come out and support the team."

The remaining group matches between the other three nations will be held at St. George’s Park on the corresponding dates.

Tickets for all England games are just £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions (U16s/OAPs) and are available by clicking here.

Fleur Robinson, BAFC Commercial Director said: "We are delighted to host this fixture which adds to the growing list of international men's and women's games that have been played at the Pirelli Stadium.

"We have a strong relationship with the FA and St George's Park and hosting these kind of games is just one part of that."
