MANAGER'S VERDICT: FLEETWOOD

12 March 2016

NIGEL Clough was delighted with the 2-1 victory over Fleetwood that stretched Albion's lead at the top of League One.

The Brewers boss said: "We should have been three up at half-time. Our performance warranted it.

"in terms of of closing down, pressing, not letting them settle that was excellent in the first half. If Tom Naylor's header had gone in rather than hitting the bar that would have put us two up and made it  more comfortable.

"Their goal was a lack of communication when the ball came in the middle. They have had one chance and have put it away.

"What was important was that at home you want to be on the front foot, get the crowd going and we did that in the first ten minutes.

"After they equalised we got back on the front foot again and created more chances.

"Two excellent goals from Mark Duffy - and the second was worthy of winning any game."
