NAYLOR LOOKS FOR LEAGUE DOUBLE AT PORT VALE

17 March 2016

TOM Naylor is hoping to help Burton Albion secure a league double over Port Vale on Saturday.

The midfielder scored in the home fixture in October, which the Brewers won 2-0.

He said: “It was a massive win that set ourselves up for the rest of the season.

“It was a scrappy game and they got a man sent off early. Then, unfortunately, Robbie Weir was sent off. I popped up with a goal and then we were happy with three points.”

Now Naylor is looking to repeat tat result on Saturday.

He said: “They have always been a big club and have the potential to go higher. We will try and stop them, take three points off them. Everyone’s fighting for something. For Port Vale it’s the play offs. Every game is a hard game.”

The Brewers go into the  match with a six-point cushion over the chasing pack.

Naylor said: “It’s massive for us to have that six point lead and we have ten games to put things to bed. A win on Saturday is what we need and then, hopefully, the other teams will lose. Port Vale have done well recently and are just outside the play offs. So it won’t be easy.

“We have the same group of players as last season so we know how to deal with pressure. I have no qualms about this side."
