NIGEL CLOUGH HOPEFUL THAT MARK DUFFY WILL RETURN TONIGHT

1 March 2016

BURTON Albion are a little short on bodies at this present time in the season and Mark Duffy’s injury on Friday meant he wasn't available for Saturday’s game against Walsall.

Manager Nigel Clough is hopeful that the on loan Birmingham City winger will be fit and available for Tonight’s game against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

“Mark Duffy is the only on that missed Saturday,” said Clough.

“He has got a chance of being available for the game at Sheffield United.

“He just twisted his ankle in training on Friday so we’re hopeful he will be OK.

“I think we missed his creativity and the ability to do something a little bit different on Saturday.

“As good as we were in some ways restricting Walsall, sometimes you just need a flash of brilliance from somebody and Mark Duffy is as capable as anybody at doing that.”

Stuart Beavon was brought off towards the latter stages of Saturday’s game and Clough mentioned in his post-match interview that he had picked up a couple of knocks but is hopeful that he will be ready for tonight.

Nigel Clough said: “Once again he should be OK.

“He takes a lot of knocks and a battering at times being up there on his own but I think he’s used to it now – he usually recovers quite well.

“We will try to get him back out there if he’s OK.”

Speaking about the rest of his squad, Clough seemed happy and had no concerns over any missing players.

“Everybody seems fine although it was a tough game (Walsall) and now we’ve got a hard run of games as well when you look at the next three away from home.

“They will be difficult to get points from but with one point from the last six we need to get something.”
