PRESSURE IN ON AS TEAMS START TO GET 'TWITCHY'

2 March 2016

THE pressure is on teams at the top and bottom of League One as we are enter the business part of the season, says Andy Garner.

The Brewers first team coach says that teams will be getting "twitchy" and looking at the league table.

He says: “I look at the table every minute of the day and I will be looking at it for the next 13 games."

Garner says the players were boosted not only by the victory at Sheffield United on Tuesday but also by other results at the top going Albion’s way.

He said: “You are delighted with the result we got but after the Gaffer finished his talk, the players got their phones out and they are shouting, ‘Gillingham have lost, Wigan have drawn’ and it’s even better.

“That’s how it is at this time of year and everyone is twitchy. Colchester went to Bradford and won. It’s that sort of time and there are no easy games for anyone.

“But we told the lads ‘you have been to Coventry, Wigan, Peterborough, all big clubs, and won football matches. There is no reason why you can’t do it at Sheffield'.

"They are a good group of lads and they understand what we need to do. There are no big time Charlies. We will keep our feet on the ground, take every game as it comes and hopefully stretch this lead.”
