YOUNG academy prospect Ben Fox recently picked up the ‘Scholar of the year’ award at the Burton Albion Player’s Awards evening.

Ben, along with two other academy team mates, was awarded his first ever professional contract with Burton Albion just a few weeks back.

“I'm really happy, I've work very shard since I was little,” said Fox.

He added: “Massive credit goes to the Burton Albion academy especially Mike Whitlow who works really hard, Sam Rose and all the other coaches throughout the age groups, and to my mum and dad who have always supported me and worked hard.”

He has really made the central midfield position his own in the youth team this season and he says he aspires to be like “All of the central midfielders, Hamza (Choudhury) has come in on loan, Matty Palmer.”

Ben hasn't yet signed his contract but when asked if it’s something he is definitely going to do, he said: “Yes, yes.”
