DEFENDER Shane Cansdell-Sherriff says that he was always confident the Brewers would get promoted at Doncaster. He said: "I knew we would get the job done one way or another. Obviously, when you are playing a game and chances arise for the opposition you get a little nervous but the result is there and we held our own.
"It's a great feeling - to think that two years ago we were in League 2 and to see where we are now - what we have achieved as a club and a team is fantastic."
Despite Walsall pushing the Brewers all the way, Cansdell-Sherriff believes the Brewers deserved the promotion.
He said: "You look at this season and see what we have done and the fact that we were at the top for four months and despite a little shake towards the end we deserve to be there. Importantly, we carried on and finished the job."
The defender's extended family had all flown in from Australia to watch the last two games and to see the Brewers clinch promotion.
He said: "We had nine members of the family fly in for the Gillingham game and stay for Doncaster. They managed to see it all and it was a great day for everyone involved."
