FIRM MARKS ARRIVAL IN BURTON BY BACKING PITCH PROJECT

11 May 2016

CHARTERED insurance broker Franklands has celebrated an expansion into Burton by backing a community project at the Pirelli Stadium.

The company has spotted a gap in the town of the availability of business insurance advice provided by a Chartered Insurance Broker and, being community-minded, wanted to announce its arrival on Centrum 100 by showing its support for Burton.

Franklands has made a ÂŁ2,000 donation to Burton Albion Community Trust, which will go towards the costs of creating a new artificial pitch for community use at the home of the Brewers.

Franklands chairman Paul Brown said: “We have been based in Derby for 30 years but have long thought that Burton was a place where we would like to do more business. The Burton Albion chairman Ben Robinson is well-known for running his insurance business in Burton over many years and Mandy Belcher worked with him for a long period of time, so when we established a base in the town, Mandy was the right person to lead that office for us.

“We are the only Chartered Insurance Broker in Burton and one of the Top 100 in the UK.  We are also founder members of Brokerbility a grouping of 38 of the largest independent brokers across the country which enables us to negotiate wide policy wordings and competitive pricing.

"We wanted to mark our arrival in the town and, after contacting Ben Robinson, we thought a contribution to the Burton Albion Community Trust would be appropriate. Learning what the trust gets involved with and understanding how far reaching into the community it is, it’s great to be involved in some small way.”

David Harrison, managing director, added: “We are very much a community broker and we always have a designated annual charity. The far reaching work of the trust represents an ideal charity for us to support in Burton.”

Burton Albion Community Trust chairman John Jackson said: “We are delighted to welcome Franklands to Burton and thank them for backing our plans to create a much-needed community facility for Burton. We look forward to having a long and successful partnership with the company.”
