LUCAS Akins has picked up the top goal scorer award for the second season running, this season with 12 goals after most recently netting four goals in his last two games.
Jokingly he was asked why he always leaves it late to scores his flurry of goals.
He said: “It’s just the way it goes I suppose.
“I get a lot of stick from the lads saying I only turn up at the end of the season but it’s just one of them things.
“The skipper reminds me all the time, he says ‘It must be the end of the season.’”
On a more serious note the Albion winger puts the recent years’ of success down to the tight-knit group in the dressing room.
“All of the lads are great you know – we have a tight squad and that’s why we've been so good,” said Akins.
