STUART Beavon has been voted Burton Albion’s Player of the Season for the second year in a row.
The striker just pipped goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin for the top prize at the Players’ Awards night after a close vote amongst the club’s supporters.Beavon has been a key player for the Brewers this season with his tireless front-running.
As well as taking the runners-up trophy in the Player of the Year vote, McLaughlin was named Players’ Player of the Season.
The Top Goalscorer prize was picked up by Lucas Akins. His recent run of scoring form has taken his tally to 12 this season.
The Goal of the Season went to Mark Duffy for his curling effort at home to Fleetwood.
The Player in the Community award went to Damien McCrory for his work as the club’s Prostate Cancer UK ambassador this season. The defender also took the PFA Award for his community role.
The Most Improved Young Player prize went to Marcus Harness with Ben Fox, who has earned a pro contract with Nigel Clough’s squad next season, being named Scholar of the Year.
With team work being key to the Brewers success this year, the Individual Performance of the Season went to all the Brewers first team for the 4-0 away victory at Port Vale.
Away travel organiser Cheryl Smith was honoured for her volunteer work for the club with the Service and Support to Burton Albion Award, whilst Gary Lote, the club’s police liaison officer for nearly two decades was given a special award in recognition of 20 years of service.
Charlotte Worth was named the Burton Albion Ladies Players’ Player of the Season.
