SKIPPER SAYS PROMOTION IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR THE CLUB

10 May 2016

SKIPPER John Mousinho has paid tribute to the chairman, fans and manager in making the promotion dream come true.

He said: "Certainly when I came to the club two years ago we didn't have ambitions of being in the Championship in two seasons.

"It is a dream come true. I think the story for a club this size to get this far is outstanding."

He thanked the fans for playing their part.

"They were incredible at Doncaster, as they have been all season."

He praised chairman Ben Robinson for his stedwardship of the club.

"To do it without spending the big money, without the big crowds, not chucking money senselessly at it, sums it up. He has done an incredible job."

And he said that the players, manager and backroom staff deserved the success for the way the Brewers played all season.

"In terms of club size, to go to places like Sheffield United, Coventry City and Wigan Athletic and come away with pretty resounding victories and come very close to winning the league is brilliant.

"We were pretty unfortunate not to win the league in the end as the run of results didn't come at the right time. It's pretty outstanding what the lads have done and what the club has done."
