SKIPPER'S RELIEF AT LATE WINNER

1 May 2016

BREWERS skipper John Mousinho was massively relieved after Tom Naylor scored late against Gillingham.

He said: “The feeling is relief I think- it was an incredible feeling when that goal went in and when the final whistle went. The Pirelli was absolutely rocking - credit to the fans too they stuck with it when we were plugging away and that always lifts the side.

“I think the side would have been very disappointed after the first half domination had we not won the game. We started slowly in the second-half and they started strongly which lead to them scoring. Credit to Tom who has popped up with some important goals for the side of late and we are all buzzing to go to Doncaster next week.”

Mousinho insisted that the job isn’t done but was proud of his teammates for producing the goods when the pressure was on.

“It was important not to lose the game, so that we left it in our own hands. You could see that we pushed players forward to try and win the game but at the same time we knew that we had to be tight at the back.

"The players and fans will be hoping that Fleetwood can really dig a result out for us at Walsall on Monday and if not then we will make sure we finish the job on Sunday at Doncaster.”
