THE Brewers face a tough task on Saturday when they face Reading, who are flying high under the stewardship of Jaap Stam.

The Yellows were held to a goalless draw by Barnsley before the international break and will be aiming to get back to winning ways at the weekend.

Burton have failed to win in their last two Championship games but are still four points clear of the drop zone.

In contrast, the Royals have won their previous two fixtures and are looking serious promotion contenders under the former Manchester United defender.

Gareth McCleary scored twice during Reading’s win over Wigan and the Jamaican international is thriving playing alongside England Under-21 star John Swift in attacking midfield.

The 29-year-old took his season’s tally to six and is one to watch on Saturday, while combative Daniel Williams is the important player who allows him freedom to roam.

Nigel Clough will be hoping for improvement from his stars, who have lost their last two away games, and will be looking to the attacking talents of Lucas Akins and Jackson Irvine.

The pair have been standout performers for the Brewers and will be key to unlocking a Royals defence that hasn’t conceded a goal in three Championship games.

Akins has been an ever-present in the side this term and continuing his good form from last season. The attacker is available at 177/100 to score anytime.
