BREWERS HOST CHILDREN IN NEED RALLY

18 November 2016

The Pirelli Stadium was the driving force behind the ‘Big Learner Rally’ as the Brewers played host to the event in aid of Children in Need on Friday morning.

The event, which has been running since 2014, sees driving instructors relay a car top box (the box that sits on the roof of an instructor’s car) as they move from one driving lessons to another, as the fundraiser moves across the country over a 15 day period.

The stadium was the starting point of the Burton to Ripley leg of the fundraiser, which will end at Donington Park later today.

Kate Fennelly, 46, of the Feet to Wheels Driving School in Ilkeston led the relay team out of the Pirelli Stadium as they began the leg.

Those who started at the Pirelli met at 9:30 AM and the convoy left just after 10AM.

The ‘Big Learner Rally’ has raised over £150,000 over its first two years, with last year’s total falling just below £100,000. Money was donated by sponsoring a coloured spot that will be signed placed on a car, many of which were on show as the cars left the Pirelli Stadium.
