CLOUGH LOOKS FOR BREWERS TO BOUNCE BACK AT PRESTON

25 November 2016

NIGEL Clough is looking for his team to bounce back from the Reading defeat when they take on Preston tomorrow.

He said: “You do get down about games like Reading but you have to look at the overall picture and we are generally happy with the way we have played.

“We have to persevere and find answers within the squad. It’s keeping faith with the players – not getting too down when we do get beaten by good teams like Reading and moving on. We can take a couple of defeats - it’s the manner of the defeats that can get to you more than anything.

“We know we can play football in the Championship but we must ally that with a more steely approach and a determination not to concede.

“We are having between 15 and 20 shots away from home each game. We are conceding too many without a doubt but if we can score first it’s a different game and that’s our biggest problem at the moment.

“We are disappointed with our return from set plays. It’s a collective thing - we don’t like heaping all the responsibilities on the strikers.”
