PRESTON NORTH END MATCH PREVIEW

25 November 2016

Burton Albion will head to Deepdale tomorrow to face Preston North End in the first ever clash between the two sides.

Having started the season badly by losing their first three games, Simon Grayson’s men have gone on to losing just once in nine games to leaders Newcastle United.

They have won five of them games including beating the likes of Norwich, Aston Villa and Huddersfield in them nine games.

Brewers manager Nigel Clough said he expects a tough game in Lancashire: “They mix it up as well as anyone in the league. They go long when they need to, play in the midfield – you can tell they are a good settled side who have been together a couple of seasons. It’s one of those where they don’t spend millions but keep building. They are trying to challenge for that top six and with it being open this season.”

“They are a great example of not spending millions at still being competitive, they are a much bigger club in terms of crowds and history but we hope to be similar to them.”

Clough's opposite number, Simon Grayson, says tomorrow's game will be another tough test for his team: "Burton as a football club have come a long way in a short space of time and full credit to them that they are in the Championship so it's another tough test for us but hopefully come 5pm we will have three more points added to the campaign so far.”

Preston’s last home game was against Wolverhampton Wanderers which finished 0-0.
