TOM NAYLOR SIGNS A NEW DEAL

18 November 2016

TOM Naylor has added another year onto his Burton Albion contract which will now see him stay at the Pirelli Stadium until June 2018.

The midfielder originally put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Brewers after his contract with Derby County expired in the summer of 2015. A loan spell from the Rams gave Tom the chance to earn a permanent move to the Pirelli Stadium.

Naylor has scored three goals from midfield this season, against Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers.

Talking about his new contract, Naylor said: “”Yes I'm delighted, it’'s been a long time coming but now it'’s signed and sealed I'm over the moon.

“”I just want to play as much as I can, try to get this club as high as they can as well. Hopefully we will stay in the league.””

Tom Naylor played under Nigel Clough at Derby, and Naylor admits itÂ’s nice to be working under him again.

“”I was delighted when he (Nigel Clough) came in because he brought me at Derby so it was always nice to have familiar faces in the coaching staff as well and it'’s always a bonus when I signed my deal because he’'s the gaffer that brought me at Derby so he knows what my capabilities are.”

““It’'s nice when you get rewarded with a new contract, like I say I'’m over the moon with the extension and I need to kick on now.

““You’’ve just got to work hard in training then when it comes to match days you’’ve got to put that 100% in to stay in the Championship.””
