21 November 2016

BURTON Albion under 18s have been handed a testing away trip to Sunderland in the FA Youth Cup third round.

The game will be played on December 15 (7PM kick off) at Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground and is the Brewers’ opening game of the competition, with the club’s Championship status meaning that they enter in the third round.

Ticket prices are as follows:
Adults: £3
Concessions: £1

Burton’s last attempt in the competition ended in disappointment, with a penalty shoot-out defeat to Ilkeston thwarting the Brewers in the first round.

Sam Rose’s team have already had success in cup competitions this season, with the side progressing from their Youth Alliance Cup group in first place, before falling to Wigan Athletic in the quarter final.

The competition has acted been contested by high profile players such as Paul Pogba, Jack Wilshire and Michael Owen, and has been won for the last three years by Chelsea’s youth team.
