CLOUGH TARGETS VICTORIES ON THE ROAD

13 October 2016

BURTON Albion’s first away win of the season isn’t far off says Nigel Clough.

Albion travel to Wigan on Saturday and the Brewers boss is disappointed that his team haven’t yet recorded a victory on the road.

He said: “We have had opportunities and we want to win games if we can. We could have won all of them away, even Norwich where we lost 3-1. If we keep doing the same things it is only a matter of time before we pick up three points on the road. A lot of our fixtures coming up are away so we have to get something from those games.”

The Brewers face three games in six days after the international break.

Clough said:  “It’s good to have the break and try and get the niggles cleared up but you lose momentum from the four points we got from the previous two games.

“The lads had a few days off the first week but the nice thing is that they have come back ready to work straight away. They recognise that that they have had the time off and now it’s back to work and business again and that we have to take that into Wigan on Saturday.

"They are all aware that although we are a few points above the bottom three that we should have more points on the board and that we have an awful lot more work to do.”
