A STRETTON schoolboy who recently won a courage award got the dream chance to lead out the teams at the Pirelli Stadium - carrying the matchball.
Jack Blackford led the Brewers and Cardiff out onto the pitch on Saturday, after being given the opportunity to be a matchday mascot.
The nine-year old helps care for his mum, Sadie, and recently won the Courage Award at the Burton Mail's Community Champions 2016.
Burton Albion invited Jack to be a matchday mascot and presented him with a signed ball as a souvenir of his big day. He also got the chance to walk out the matchball.
The mascot package was donated by the Free Kicks Foundation – a charity which provides football-related activities for deserving youngsters.
A beaming Jack said he had a “brilliant” matchday experience and loved the opportunity to meet manager Nigel Clough and his favourite Brewers players.
