KEEPER SAYS WIGAN GAME IS 'MASSIVE' FOR ALBION

14 October 2016

JON McLaughlin believes that Saturday’s game at Wigan will be “massive” for both clubs.

The Albion keeper says that both teams will feel that they should have put more points on the board and will see the first fixture back from the international break as an opportunity to record a victory.

“Wigan is a massive game,” said McLaughlin. “Along with Barnsley they came up with us and we have experience playing them last season. They are important games to take points from.

“Wigan have made changes and have a lot of quality. It’s a team in the same boat as us as they will feel their position in the league doesn’t reflect how good a team they can be.

“We got a great result there last season and went toe-to-toe in the league until the last day so it would be great to go there and get a result and we are confident we can do that.

“We are disappointed with the number of points we have but not with the way we have made the step up again and the way we have approached the games this season. Coming into a tough league we have held our own and given a good account of ourselves. If I hadn’t been for a bit of luck falling to the opposition we could have found ourselves with a few more points.”
