BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION MATCH PREVIEW

16 September 2016

BURTON Albion host Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon in their first home fixture since the international break.

Brighton returned to winning ways against surprise package Huddersfield in their midweek fixture with Anthony Knockaert netting his fourth goal of the season against the Terriers.

The Brewers extended their unbeaten run to five after their 1-1 draw against Fulham in midweek and defender John Brayford spoke about the importance of keeping the run going:

“We’ve done really well in the last five games, we could have probably turned a few of the draws into wins too which is something we probably need to do more of. This team always gives a 100 percent no matter who puts on the shirt for the cause.

“We are here on merit and it’s a reward for everybody involved with the club. Nothing has really changed since I was last here 10 years ago, other than the standard of players and obviously the league.”

The two sides have met once before in a league cup tie in September 2014 where the Seagulls ran out 3-0 victors with goals from Rohan Ince, Kazenga LuaLua and Craig Mackil-Smith.

Brewers striker Chris O’Grady lined up in blue and white that day but finds himself at the Pirelli on a season-long loan but will be ineligible to play against his parent club.

The referee for Saturday’s clash will be Geoff Eltringham while his assistants will be Billy Smallwood and Nick Greenhalgh and the fourth official will be Ollie Yates. Eltringham has produced 20 yellow cards this season, an average of 3 per match.

Tickets will be available on the day. Home supporters will be able to purchase tickets from the club’s ticket office but are advised to allow plenty of time if they are going to purchase their tickets on the day.

Both home terraces are available but seats are limited for this fixture.

You can pay by cash or card but only in the ticket office and not on the turnstile.

If supporters wish to purchase their tickets in advance then they can in person in the club shop, via the website or ring 01283 565938.
