CLOUGH WAITS ON MOUSINHO INJURY

7 September 2016

JOHN Mousinho remains a doubt for the trip to Wolves on Saturday with Tom Flanagan and Callum Reilly definitely ruled out.

Brewers boss Nigel Clough is hoping that his skipper may recover sufficiently from a hamstring injury to be fit to play.

He said: “John hasn’t trained this week yet but has a bit of a chance for Saturday. It may be too soon as three weeks is early for a hamstring strain but we are hopeful that he might be involved on Saturday and if not on Tuesday when we travel to Fulham.

“He doesn’t want to miss games. He loves being involved and leading the team out. But there is no point in rushing him. We have a sequence of six games before the next international break and if he breaks down he could miss all of hem, so we want to make sure he is right.”

Tom Flanagan, who missed out on a potential international debut for the Northern Ireland team because of injury, will not be fit for Wolves.

“Tom has a slight tear in his thigh and will need another two weeks or something like that.

“Callum Reilly is struggling with a dead leg he picked up in pre-season which has turned into a nasty one.”
