ACADEMY DRAW FRUSTRATES SAM ROSE

3 April 2017

UNDER 18s manager Sam Rose was pleased with his side's performance again Bradford City, but was disappointed to only come away with a point in the 1-1 draw.

Joe Sbarra scored for the Brewers as they earned a point in the Youth Alliance League. Rose was happy with his team's performance, but believes they deserved a better result.

"We can be pleased with the level of our performance overall but we are disappointed that we haven't won today and particularly with the goal we conceded. We created enough good, clear chances and a few half chances and looked in control for large periods of the game.

"Bradford City moved the ball really well at times and I'm surprised they haven't won more games this season. Their movement and passing meant we had to work hard to contain them. We were under pressure for periods of the 1st half but I felt we defended our box well in general. We changed shape to help us to put pressure on the ball higher up the pitch and dominate more possession and space and from then on I felt we created enough to win the game and played some good football.

"It was a good game and more experience and opportunities for development for the players involved. We're looking forward to the final 3 games of the season against Notts County, Mansfield Town and Hartlepool United. We will keep asking the group to be resilient, to play with purpose and to build a strong finish to the season."
