BURTON Albion's 2-1 win over Leeds United has been named the LG Performance of the Week.
The League Managers' Association’s five-man panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, has determined that the Award should go to the Brewers.
The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.
Burton Albion Manager Nigel Clough has received a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and a LG Performance of the Week trophy to commemorate the result.
You can see him receiving the award on Sky Sports on Saturday morning.
Two goals in as many minutes inside the last quarter of an hour from Marvin Sordell and Michael Kightly inspired Albion to a famous 2-1 victory over promotion chasing Leeds United and propelled the Brewers to within a point of securing a second season in the Championship.
