CLOUGH LOOKS FORWARD TO LEEDS

20 April 2017

BREWERS boss Nigel Clough believes this Saturday’s home game to Leeds United this weekend is another match which shows how far the club have come.

Clough said: "It’s another one of them ties which shows how far the club has come through the years, it wasn’t that long ago that they were playing in the Champions League. We were in the non-league at the time. I am sure it will be a full house like Villa and we look forward to welcoming them here and having a go at them like we do in all home games. We will give everything we’ve got and it would be a great time to produce our first back-to-back victories this season. It should be a good game with us fighting to stay in the league and them dreaming of being in the Premier League.

Clough was also quick to praise the job that Leeds boss Garry Monk has done since he was appointed last June: “He has done a great job, I imagine they are ahead of the long-term plan having done so well. I don’t think they’ve been on that bad of a run of late, I just think Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham have done incredibly well of late. I’ve read his comments after Monday’s defeat to Wolves and he said he was keen for them to have a real go in the last three games of the season and see where they finish.
