BURTON Albion forward Marvin Sordell has been named in the Football League Paper’s ‘Team of the day’.
The 26-year-old scored Albion’s first goal in the 2-1 win over Leeds United at the weekend. The three points all but secured a second season in the Sky Bet Championship for Nigel Clough’s men.Michael Kightly was introduced to the game minutes before the goal, and the Burnley loanee was on the spot to seize on a mistake from the Leeds backline and get the ball forward to Sordell as quickly as he could. Turning his man on the edge of the box Sordell produced an erring finish that Green was powerless to prevent from rippling the back of the net to give Albion the edge.
