NIGEL CLOUGH SAYS VILLA WILL FANCY THEIR CHANCES

7 April 2017

NIGEL Clough may be forced to make changes against Aston Villa tomorrow afternoon after a small number of players are still carrying knocks.

Kyle McFadzean missed out against Newcastle but John Brayford, Tom Flanagan and Lucas Akins all made it after being monitored leading up to Wednesday night’s fixture.

The Albion boss might not have it all his own way tomorrow after some of his players are still carrying minor injuries: “There might be one or two changes, but they may be enforced.” said Clough. “We have got people carrying knocks - Kyle McFadzean wasn’t fit to start on Wednesday and we’ve got one or two similar for Saturday. It’s just a case of managing three games in a week. Everybody should be fit for next Friday against Ipswich.”

Aston Villa have won their last four games, three of those have come on their own patch. The Villans have lost just once in their last eight games, and that defeat was to high-flying Huddersfield Town.

Nigel Clough said: “They (Aston Villa) have had a great run of late.

“I went to see them on Tuesday night against QPR and I think they are in that mode at the moment where they aren’t playing brilliantly but they are getting results.

“Four on the spin now I think they’ve won and that in itself breeds confidence, they will come here fancying their chances.”
