UNDER 18s coach Sam Rose believes that Burton Albion have set the benchmark for their performances after their 1-1 draw with Notts County.

With the two sides nearing the end of their Youth Alliance season, the game produced some good football as the teams played out a stalemate on Friday.

Rose was pleased with his team's performance and feels that they must strive for that level from now on.

"We are really pleased with the performance on the whole.

"We pressed well as a team, controlled the majority of possession and got in to good scoring positions, but just couldn't score a second to go on and win the game after equalising early in the second half.

"The goal was a very good team move and epitomised the performance. Both teams played some attractive attacking football and there were chances for both teams.

"The game was a good advert for the Youth Alliance. We are pleased with the purpose and quality that our lads showed and it's a good benchmark for future performances."
