NIGEL Clough was pleased with the work out his players got against Leicester City, coming after the news that striker Liam Boyce could be out for the rest of the season.
The Brewers boss says that he will have to now look to bring in another forward after an ACL injury suffered by Boyce at Shrewsbury.
He said: "It was devastating for everybody not least Liam himself. He is the person we feel for the most - it is a devastating blow for him.
"We feared the worst after Saturday as we have seen a few over the years. There was no contact at all he just put his foot down and was unfortunate.
"We will certainly need to add a striker before the window closes."
On the 2-1 victory he said: "One of the best things was the number of balls we dealt with coming into the box as it will be like that against Cardiff on Saturday.
"They could have scored more but Stephen Bywater pulled off some good saves. It was a good evening and nice to go into Saturday with an encouraging performance."
