BURTON Albion will travel to Cardiff City in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

The Brewers faced Neil Warnock's side on the opening day of the Championship season losing 1-0 to a late goal.

Now they face a long midweek away trip to the Wales capital city.

Brewers manager Nigel Clough said: "Having just played Cardiff we know how difficult it is going to be. But we will go down there and try and win the game just as we did at Oldham.

"We would have liked to have been at home and the people we feel for straight away are the supporters who face a very long journey in the middle of the week if they want to watch us play.

"With trips to Hull and Middlesbrough as well it gives us very tough couple of weeks coming up before the international break."

The tie will be played week commencing August 21.

Tickets and travel details will be confirmed once the date of the tie is known.
