THE Brewers will be without skipper John Mousinho for the visit of Birmingham on Friday evening after the defender picked up a ham-string injury in training.

Brewers boss Nigel Clough said: ”He might now struggle before the international break. He has a  chance for Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday but that depends how it settles down in the next few days.”

Clough also gave an update on Stephen Warnock who was injured in the opening minutes at Hull.

“It’s not too bad. He’s had a scan and there’s no real damage, so it’s just a case of how quickly it settles down now.”

Ben Turner will serve the final game of his five-match ban on Friday night.

Jackson Irvine returns from his suspension following the red card at Hull but Hope Akpan will be suspended following his dismissal at Middlesbrough.

Clough made substitutions last night wary of not having much time to recover before Birmingham arrive at the Pirelli.

He said: “We took Lucas Akins and Marvin Sordell off last night to help them be fresh for Friday.”
