HAVING the next two games at home gives the Brewers an important opportunity to get points on the boards, says Nigel Clough.
The Brewers manager said: “A win tomorrow night would be a huge boost for everybody – even not to lose the game and get something on the board, but we will be trying to win it and that would provide a springboard for us from that point on.
“It’s great having two home games before the international break and a chance to get some points."
The Brewers face Birmingham City tomorrow night having won the same fixture a year ago.
Clough said: “Birmingham will be more aware this season of what they are coming into which is why we need to step it up and make it even more comfortable for teams
“We want to play the same way we did in the first half against Cardiff just with a bit more intent and purpose.
“The players understand the tough start we have had fixtures wise and in some ways it’s good they are out of the way. We have got two extremely tough away games out of the way at Hull and Middlesbrough and have competed and been in both games. We will try and keep 11 men on the pitch and that might help us as well.”
