BYWATER SAYS BREWERS STAY POSITIVE

17 August 2017

STEPHEN Bywater says that the Brewers players remain positive despite the run of bad luck that has plagued the start of the season.

Speaking after the 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough, the keeper said: "There are lots of positives we can take. We started well, created chances and I think we played well as a team. It’s never easy, it wasn’t last year and it won’t be this year.

"We are all positive. We are a team, we all want to win and it’s that team mentality that will get us through. We have had a good pre-season, we are just disappointed with the few injuries we have got.

"We just need to convert our chances into goals, that’s the bottom line.

"We have a good set of lads who want to play for each other. We are a solid unit and will be hard to beat."

Bywater also knows that manager Nigel Clough will bolster his squad with the right signings.

"The Gaffer did it last year, he did it at Sheffield United. He will get players in that will do really well. I trust the manager. He will pick the players and the team he picks will do well.

"Sometimes it seems everything is against Burton Albion but we thrive of that."
