MATTY Lund's ankle injury picked up in the 2-1 win over Birmingham on Friday isn't as bad as first feared.
The midfielder was stretchered off and will miss the trip to Cardiff City tomorrow but Nigel Clough says he may not be sidelined for too long.
The Brewers boss said: "He has had a scan this morning and the damage doesn't seem to be as serious as we first thought.
"He has had problems with that ankle before in previous seasons and I think he was extemely worried as he heard a bit of a crack. But it's a severe twist and sometimes they can take a couple of weeks and sometimes the feeling can come back quickly. There's not much swelling and he has an outside chance for Saturday.
"It's similar to Stephen Warnock, where you fear the worst and that's it for months but it looks like it might settle down quickly and the good thing is that after Saturday we have two weeks' break."
