A 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday completed a “brilliant week” for the Brewers said Nigel Clough.
After losing the first three Championship games, Albion now have four points from two games and can look forward to a Carabao Cup Third Round tie at Old Trafford.
The Burton Albion manager said: “We have beaten Birmingham here, won at Cardiff, drawn Manchester United away in the cup and finished with a good point - it has been a brilliant week for the club.
“We are delighted with the effort so far and we should have had another point or two on the board. We have a bit of work to do with the squad before the window closes.
“We have made an offer for a player and we are chasing another couple as well – but those targets haven’t really changed.”
The Brewers now go into the international break.
Clough said: “Some of the players will be resting, some doing work – they are at different stages so it’s whatever they need. The squad has a lot of difference, in terms of fitness and match fitness, at the moment. We can’t do much about that, apart from trying to get them all up to speed.”
