DELANEY CALLED UP TO REPUBLIC OF IRELAND U21S

29 August 2017

BURTON Albion defender Ryan Delaney has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under 21 side for the first time.

Delaney, who is currently on loan at League of Ireland Premier Division side Cork City who currently sit top by 17 points. He has been impressing for City and has played 24 games scoring five goals from defence.

He has also featured in four Europa League qualifying round matches, two against Levadia and two against second-round opponents AEK Larnaca. Unfortunately for Cork they were knocked out against Larnaca 2-0 on aggregate.

He will be hoping to make his international debut for the young Irish National side when they take on Azerbaijan in Baku next Tuesday on the 5th of September in the European Championships Qualifier.
