IT'S been a busy summer transfer window for the Brewers with 12 new additions to the Albion squad and 11 outgoings.
Midfielder Matty Lund was first through the door at the Pirelli Stadium after he turned down a new contract at Rochdale to join Nigel Clough’s men on a two-year deal.
Albion’s record signing Liam Boyce followed shortly after, for a fee which is undisclosed.
Two former Wigan Athletic defenders Stephen Warnock and Jake Buxton both joined the Brewers to help bolster Nigel Clough’s defence. The pair joined on free transfers after leaving Wigan in the summer.
Clough once again has made use of the loan market having brought in four players on a temporary basis. Luke Murphy re-signed on a loan deal after he spent half a season at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton’s first every Championship campaign.
Connor Ripley, Sean Scannell and Joe Mason are the most recent players to join the club. Ripley joined from Middlesbrough on a season-long loan, as well as Huddersfield Town winger Sean Scannell. Joe Mason’s loan is up in January after the forward joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In terms of outgoings, Jon McLaughlin, Lee Williamson, Phil Edwards, Callum Reilly and Charlie Gatter have all been released from the club. Sam Hornby joined Port Vale in a permanent move whilst Marcus Harness also joined the Valiants, but in a temporary loan move.
Marcus Dinanga scored five goals in pre-season, so the young forward has been given an opportunity to score goals at AFC Telford as he joins The Bucks on loan.
Deadline day was one of the busiest in Burton Albion's history. The final day of the window saw three players come IN to the club, whilst two left the club.
Damien McCrory and John Mousinho both left the club, McCrory on loan to Portsmouth whilst Mousinho joined Oxford United on a permanent contract.
In terms of new faces at the Pirelli Stadium, John Brayford joined on a two-year deal following his release from Sheffield United whilst Will Miller also joined on a two-year deal after spending last season on loan with the Brewers.
The Brewers left it late on deadline day to bring in Rochdale midfielder Jamie Allen for an undisclosed fee.
