NIGEL Clough is hoping that Marvin Sordell will be fit enough to join the squad at Bolton on Saturday (kick off 3pm) after being forced to sit out the Preston game with a groin injury.
The Brewers boss is also hoping that Stephen Bywater recovers from a bug that has kept him away from the club in time for Saturday.
Joe Mason will definitely be out as his illness is worse than feared.
Clough says: “Marvin has a chance to play against his old club at the weekend. He will be keen to get out there.
“We hope Stephen’s bug is just one of these two-day things. He’s playing as well as anyone at the moment and was excellent again on Saturday so we are hoping he is fit.
“Joe has an abscess on his appendix and has had to go to hospital and we are awaiting some results. If they operate that would take him out for four weeks. He’s on anti-biotics and if that works and settles it down it could be a week or so but we are waiting to see. He has had lots of bad luck with injury and illness since he joined us from his back problems to this now.”
