NIGEL Clough says it’s still too early in the season to see the trip to Bolton on Saturday (kick off 3pm) as a must win game.
Bolton are three places but only two points ahead of the Brewers in the Championship table with two games to the halfway point in the season.
Clough said: “They are all big games at the moment when you need to stop the rot but when you are playing someone in the bottom three or four with you then it becomes even more important.
“It’s not a must win game just yet. It’s more for our own well-being that we want to try and get something. The homes games we are losing at the moment and that puts more pressure on us on the road.
“Bolton aren’t as bad as their start to the season suggests. You look at their squad on paper and they are very good experienced Championship players. After their poor start they are now in a much better run of form.
“We are capable of dragging ourselves out of it if we can produce the sort of form Bolton have produced. But the further you go into the season the less time you have to recover.
“We are still only one win from getting out of the bottom three. The others have had pretty poor runs as well.”
