INJURY UPDATE: NORWICH CITY

29 December 2017

NIGEL Clough says he may have to juggle his squad with two games coming in quick succession.

The Brewers will play their third and fourth games of a busy Christmas period at home to Norwich tomorrow and then away at Sheffield Wednesday on New Year’s Day (both 3pm kick offs).

He said: “Having played on the 23rd and the 26th there were a few who were tired. As much as we are totally focussing on the game against Norwich tomorrow we have to have one eye on the game on Monday as there will be one or two players who won’t be able to do both. It’s two in 48 hours and that’s a big ask.”

Joe Mason remains sidelined with illness and Matty Lund is also struggling to get back to full fitness after his illness.

Nigel Clough: “It will be a disappointment for Matty being left out but after the illness and everything he is struggling to get back to full fitness and there’s no reserve games to play in so he is having to do more after training.

“Apart from that, there are one or two niggles and knock as always but then it’s about juggling the team over the next two games.”

That starts with Norwich City tomorrow.

Clough says:” Norwich have technically gifted players, and it’s the front four who will hurt the majority of teams in this league if we let them. We can’t give them opportunities.”
