CLOUGH MAY FRESHEN UP TEAM FOR SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

31 December 2017

NIGEL Clough hopes his team can continue their good away form at Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow (kick off 3pm) but may have to make changes as the Brewers complete a hectic Christmas programme.

He said: "It's about getting the team right. We will be training this morning and then it is about assessing the players.

"Tiredness-wise, playing another game is as big ask when you have to put as much effort in as we do - we don't cruise in any games. The effort that has gone in over the last few weeks from players like Tom Naylor has been fantastic.

"Kyle McFadzean came back in against Norwich and was magnificent. Ever since we have left him out he has been good in training and come on in games and made an impact.

"Jake Buxton has felt things in the last few games and we rested him against Norwich and John Brayford for 45 minutes. We will have a look today at the players now and assess the game from there.

"We have seven points out of the last 12 and we are encouraged by everything - the performances and the results, so we go into the new year in good spirits. We can't do anything about other teams picking up and winning it was just important we got a point on the baord and we will try and get some more tomorrow."
