BURTON YMCA COLLECTION TONIGHT

24 February 2017

THE Burton YMCA will be holding a bucket collection around the Pirelli Stadium this evening as the Brewers take on Blackburn Rovers.

At Burton YMCA they believe that everyone deserves a place to call home and to be supported in times of crisis.

They are an independent Christian charity committed to helping people at times of need, regardless of gender, race, ability or faith.

The YMCA are committed to providing a supportive and safe environment for those who are homeless with 71 rooms over 4 sites. As well as accommodation they provide practical and emotional support so that tenants can address their past and learn practical skills for the future.

Paula Senior, YMCA Fundraising Officer said: “We are grateful to Burton Albion Football Club for offering us the opportunity to fundraise at the home match against Blackburn Rovers on the 24th February. We will be joined by volunteers and clients and will be conducting a bucket collection in the main reception and at the turnstiles.

“All money raised will be used to support the vital services we provide for homeless people across our 3 main housing projects. We have previously held food collection events at Burton Albion before and very humbled by the on-going support & generosity we receive from the club, fans and local community.

“We won’t be collecting food this time but will be raising awareness of our service as well as fundraising and look forward to chatting to fans on the night.”
