BREWERS striker Luke Varney is looking forward to going back to Pride Park with the Albion tomorrow evening and expects their to be some extra spice.
Varney who endured a tough spell at Derby County after joining initially on loan in November 2008 from Charlton Athletic and then signing permanently for £1 million in 2009 reflects back on his time there with disappointment rather than regret after suffering lots of niggling injuries and illness.Varney said: “My time at Derby was a disappointment, I wanted to do well there as I am a Leicester lad and felt it was a good club to be at. But things change in football, I always look forward to going back there personally and getting the scalp. It’s a great stadium to play in and I still know a lot of people at the club.
"I scored against them earlier on this season for Ipswich, there’s a few ex Derby players in the squad the likes of Barker, Brayford, Naylor and obviously with the manager having managed there I am certain that will add extra spice to it too so it’s an occasion we will look forward to.”
