COVENTRY City's leading goalscorer Marvin Sordell has joined Burton Albion on a deal until June, in a deal that will see Stuart Beavon and Callum Reilly join the Sky Blues. The former Bolton and Burnley man has played and scored in the Premier League, but Marvin has played most of his career in the Championship and says he is looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead: "I am really looking forward to it, the club is playing in the league that I played in quite a few years ago and I'm looking forward to the challenge of hopefully staying up.
"First and foremost I need to work hard and hopefully I settle into the group quite quickly. I want to add goals to this team and stay up.
"He (Nigel Clough) said that the group here is an honest one so I need to come in and give it my all and work hard every game. Wherever I play want to be scoring goals, as a striker that's what you get your buzz off."
At the age of 25 he has already accord over 50 career goals and is hopefully of taking another opportunity, this time with Burton Albion.
"All of the experiences in my career so far have brought me to where I am today and I'm thankful for every opportunity I've had so far, I've got another one here so hopefully I can do well.
"You never know what's going to happen in football you know. I signed for Coventry in July last year and I didn't know what was going to happen. I signed until the end of the season with a view to staying who knows how much longer. Circumstances have brought me here.
"I'm really looking forward to the opportunity and giving it my all for the next five months.
"I am looking forward to playing again. I only played 15 minutes yesterday, I wanted to play longer but hopefully I can play longer tomorrow (vs Preston) and make an impact."
Marvin will wear number 9 during his time with Burton Albion.
